Coatings

All jobs printed digitally will require an overall coating to protect the ink from abrasion. Whether you need a label laminate or varnish depends on what you intended to use the label for, so please use the descriptions below to find the perfect label laminates or varnishes to create the glossy or matte look you like.

UV Gloss or Matte Varnish

Your label will shine with a UV gloss coating or be glare-free with a matte varnish. These are best used for indoor or outdoor labels that don’t need to be water-resistant. This type of coating can be either matte or high gloss and provides excellent UV resistance, so it is perfect for labels that are exposed to the sun or face rubbing and scratching.

High Gloss or Matte Lamination

High gloss or matte lamination is used on everyday products. Featuring a water-resistant layer this label coating can withstand harsh conditions to protect the ink from rubbing off or being scratched off. Available in a matte or glossy look.

Imprintable Finishes

Looking to write on the surface of your label? Imprintable Gloss UV Varnish is a varnish that provides the same protection as the above UV varnishes but this is used in an application where you will either be printing on the labels with a thermal printer or writing on the labels with a pen or marker.

Polyester Lamination

Provides the same protection as the above coatings, but provides an imprintable surface that works with a thermal printer.
